Here we are!

As C.S. Lewis once said, "Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work."

Gabby Maybelle serves as a vessel to express my passion for child development, trauma, and recovery, and give readers a glimpse of what inspires me in this busy world. So, sit back, relax, and read on.

Now offering Indigenous Human Services consulting services that enhance nonprofit organizations' capacity to deliver wraparound support to urban Indigenous peoples of all ages.

About me

My name is Gabby Hillis and I am an urban Gitxsan and Skatin First Nations woman with quite a story. Residing on the Coast Salish Territories of BC, I'm a solo parent to an incredible boy named Gunner who has special needs.

I absolutely love bringing laughter and light to those around me, and not a day goes by that I don't sing, dance, come up with a pun, or look at my son in wonder.

I have lived a full life of joy, laughter, adventure, trauma, abuse, addiction, and darkness.

Since obtaining a degree in Psychology with Honours in October 2009, I have been dedicated to developing innovative programs and services in the non-profit sector that meet the unique needs of urban Indigenous people of all ages and backgrounds, with a trauma-informed, strength-based and person-centred lens.
